I love losing myself in stories. There are some of those stories that grab you and get into your heart. You know the ones? Usually they are the books that have sat on your shelf forever because for some reason you just “can’t get to that one right now.” But once you pick it up, it grabs your attention in a completely different way than you thought possible!
I’ve included a list at the bottom of this post of a small smattering of those that have grabbed my attention. Most of the time, it’s the storyline that first captures me. Then it is the tone of the character or the unusual situation that they find themselves in. The plot twist might be unexpected, or the ending is jarring. Each of these elements keeps forcing my mind to return to the book, even after I’ve read through its pages. I read to find stories like these. I dream to one day write like this!
My goal in writing books, whether it be novel or non-fiction, is to put something deep into the heart of my reader. For some reason they picked up the book. My hope is that they read it and remember.
That is why I write.
Follow the story,
Hannah Marie.
