I have recently updated my website to include a full page for my art. I also hold places for my books and illustrated works, as well as this blog! But beneath all of the work that goes into building my own blog, I have also found inspiration from other creative works. I’ve included several of my favorites here:
NOTE: any of the pictures are my own, doodles from my head, and are not meant to replace the official logos. Please message me if there is any issue.
Canva

Since my brain is not organized, but I have have tons of ideas, this website is a constant go-to for me. I use it for anything from social media posts to contracts for commissions. It takes the practical side of creating and makes designing a snap. Practical + Pretty? Yes, please!
Discord

Personally, I don’t like this one much, but it’s because I haven’t figured out how to follow all of the threads. In theory, I think it could be amazing. You can create polls, use emojis, build conversations inside conversations, lead a group challenge. Several of my friends use this more than texting, but I haven’t YET figured it out. I’ve used mine for several writing groups, though, so I thought I’d include it. For those of you who have figured it out, any tips?

I love creating Instagram reels so much that I’ve actually had to back off from creating videos and splicing them together exactly how I want! My social media is already splashed with color, and I am learning that three posts of my art in the same day is a little much! But seriously, while it takes some time to compile –see Canva to help–Instagram is still my go-to for social medias. One day you might see my writing make it’s way over there, too (currently residing on facebook.com/hannahmarie.author ).

This is a catch-all of everything that interests me, though I do have a portion set aside for Hannah Marie. stuff solely. I love to collect things that make me happy, inspiration, writing tidbits, work hacks, clothes wishlist — and everything in between!
The Story Graph

Similar to the Goodreads app, but has made it onto my list of favorites because it is so visual! It categorizes the books that you’ve read in visual charts, allows you to add or participate in challenges, and it just makes my visual brain so happy while I read books! The best of both my creative and writing worlds!
Threads

Threads is related to Instagram, but is focused more on conversation rather than display. I don’t use it a whole lot, but I did find it useful a couple months ago when I was looking for some specific creative ideas. It allows others to weigh in on conversations, like spitballing within a group, only virtually!
There are so many more, like Reddit, Scribophile, Mastadon, and BookTok, but I would love a world with no social media. Just notes passed along in books. Any takers? Which would you add to this list?
Creating one stroke at a time!
Hannah Marie.
