También en español. During the last couple days of June, I rested near the airport for a couple days, based on travel availability. I got to stay at one of my favorite hotels just outside Trujillo, the Hotel Bracamonte.
Though I wasn’t as busy during this time, I had a couple days to walk around, exploring nearby markets. One of my favorite morning activities was walking along the edge of town for pastries. The early mornings right now are covered with fog, a cool temperature of low 70 degrees. It is currently winter in the southern hemisphere, and I much prefer it over the sweltering triple digits I would have in the States!
One of the best things is eating at my favorite hotel Bracamonte. Love the food! During this return trip, I discovered a new favorite of pan-fried fish with onions and peppers. Of course I had to have coffee every morning, too!
Each of these days, it was great to wake up in the morning without an alarm. During the weeks that I was in the Children’s Center, I set my alarm so that I could get up early to journal, walk around the city, or traverse towards a bakery about half a mile down the street. While I was resting in the hotel, I woke up usually around the same time, but there is something about being able to wake with the sun and the sounds of birds. It reminds me to get back into this habit whenever I can on the weekends. I feel so much more restful.
Since I spent some time with the pastor’s kids, they challenged me to pick up Duolingo again. Though it isn’t my favorite app to use, I enjoy getting to share my progress, collect jewels, and give friends high fives. I studied languages each morning for a couple hours and enjoyed beautiful mornings outside. Out of all the language learning apps, Pimsleur is my favorite right now because I can practice dialogues by speaking out loud. I can also sketch while I’m learning the language, so I always enjoy getting two things done at once.
Two mornings that I was there, I spent an hour or so walking on the beach. It is a good season right now for tourists because it is not too crowded and the weather is AMAZING!
Reading a LOT. Currently this is purely books I want to read, but starting in mid-July I will spend time diving into some new middle school art history books that I collected for my classroom library. I always attempt to read through the books at least once.
Writing a LOT, both with scheduling these posts and shooting around ideas about my graphic novel. I will be working hard on this over the next few weeks, attempting to complete several chapters (illustrations) over the next four weeks before school. I am attempting to write every day as a springboard before going back to school at the end of July.

Durante los días últimos en junio, tomé un rato cerca del aeropuerto, basado en los días todavía disponibles para mi. Quedé en un hotel favorito, justo fuera de Trujillo, el Hotel Bracamonte.
No estuvo ocupada durante este tiempo y andaba afuera para explorar los mercados y tiendas cercanas. Una de mis actividades favoritas en las mañanas era caminar para encontrar varios pasteles. Las madrugadas ahora están manteado por nubes, una temperatura fresca de menos que 30 centígrados. A esto tiempo es el invierno en el hemisferio sur, y prefiero esto tiempo más que las temperaturas radiantes en los Estados.
Uno de las cosas que me gustaría sobre todo fue el hotel Bracamonte, ¡mi favorito! Antes de mi vuelo para regresar a los Estados Unidos, encontré una comida favorita nueva del pescado brazado con unos cebollas y pimientos. Por supuesto todas las mañanas tomé café también.
Era maravilla despertarme diariamente en las mañanas sin una alarma. Durante la semana que trabajé en el Centro Infantil, yo puse me reloj muy temprano, aunque tenía tiempo escribir en mi diario, andar por la ciudad, o probar pan desde una panadería cerca de un kilometro desde el centro. Mientras estuve quedándome en el hotel, desperté cerca de la hora misma, pero hay algo diferente en abrir mis ojos al mismo tiempo de amanecer, y con las cantas de pájaros. Estuve en el habito hacer muchas cosas cuando tuve tiempo, como en las fines de las semanas. Siento más descansada.
Durante dos de las mañanas, puse una hora caminar en la playa. Es una estación buena para las toristas porque no hay mucha gente y ¡la temperatura es bonita!
Estuve leyendo mucho. Ahorita solo leo los libros que quiero, pero durante el medio de julio, tomaré mucho tiempo explorar unos libros nuevos de la ficción historia, unos que he colectado para mi biblioteca en la clase. Intento leer libros para clase por lo menos un tiempo antes de ponerlos en el estante.
También estoy escribiendo mucho, con ambos poner estos blogs y por formar ideas nuevas sobre mi novela gráfica. Yo estaría trabajar dura durante las semanas restantes de julio y intento completar muchos capítulos (y sus ilustraciones) antes de empieza la escuela al fin de julio. Intento escribir todos los días como empujarme aumentar un habito por las meses que vienen.
