My Grandad was an advertisement artist by trade and by the time I knew him, he was a retired artist, always giving personalized cards to his friends, illustrating his family travels, and doodling in his back office, especially when he needed to think. We have that in common. I love drawing my own “doodles”, which is when I usually draw things I see or something that reminds me of a particular scene in my manuscript. These are the types of arts that I would love to share with you in the first section of my art workshop videos.

Initially I had hoped to share one or two videos, explaining my concept and how to draw art. I started this with my lion re-do at the beginning of the summer. This took time, but once I realized people were interested in watching my process, I thought I could turn it into something more consistent. So here goes the Hannah Marie. Art Workshop Series!
I will begin with the most basic parts, introducing my plan (which always changes!), explaining what I will cover in each video, and showing step-by-step specific techniques. Now especially at the beginning, I will be learning as I go about lighting, camera setup, and speaking while drawing. So please keep investigating, at least through the free videos! I don’t usually speak out loud to explain my process as I go and I might end up having to include a voiceover. However, I’m going to attempt it “live,” though there will not be availability to chat.
I will offer the first few art videos as examples for those who are already subscribed to my page, which you can do in advance for free HERE, for those of you who like to be prepared! For anyone who likes to wait until the last minute, I will post a reminder on Instagram the day before it goes live (@hannah_marie._artwork). Initially, I am planning concepts such as:
Techniques (basic concepts highlighted)-
- Pencil: sketching | realistic | colors | animals | hair
- Pen: hatching | cross-hatching | shadow intro | stippling | comics
- Watercolor: colors and amount | wet-on-wet | dry brush | plein air (outside drawing) intro | portrait intro | pen with watercolor
- Acrylic: Landscape | birds | shadow | dark/light/neutral
- Charcoal: people | colored pencil

Then I will offer monthly subscriptions for a small fee if you would like to see more videos, offering at least one a week. Sometimes I get over zealous on the weekend and knock out two or three paintings, so if this happens, I’ll gladly share!
Once these are up and running, I will have a primary menu for subscribers to refer back to for previous videos. Keep in mind that this is still in the dream stage, but I have been mulling over this concept since my art page got up and running on the blog! I hope that this enhances my vision and brings more practical art right to your family!
Always try new things!
Hannah Marie.
