I read an article [here] that talked about rearranging bookshelves. The purpose is to put in your hands every page you have and to decide what to do with them. I took a “before” picture and pulled the books, starting with what I have read. When I first moved in, I had such little space and time to finish the move-in process that some books were merely thrown on shelves. Or piled on the floor. I have arranged some books since then, but not to the extent that it feels less cluttered.
Unfortunately, the little shelf with middle school classroom books didn’t get moved much, but that just means I’ll need to read and get them into my classroom!

I placed each book in piles by genre and dumped three shelves’ worth in the middle of my floor. These are all books to re-read, favorites, language, or school books. I also needed to find a spot for my TV show DVDs and books on CD nestled at the bottom of my language collection, so I decided on a shelf instead of the piling method.

I went to a couple stores to find a shelf that was similar in size to these. I dragged it home and put it together one Sunday afternoon, much to the delight of my cats!

a box…

It took time and effort, but the result is completely worth it!
Keep working toward your goals,
Hannah Marie.
